What defines a good flyer?
A flyer is an essential advertising tool for presenting a company or its activities. To be effective, it must first and foremost capture the reader’s attention. This is achieved through a powerful design and text that is clear, concise, and descriptive, allowing for a quick read.
If the flyer has a commercial purpose and highlights a specific product, its text content should be entirely dedicated to that product.
Creating a flyer, like any printed communication material, requires careful work and genuine creative effort. Beyond the layout, which must adhere to specific brand guidelines (especially the use of the company’s logo colors), the message must have the maximum impact on the reader. To stand out from the competition, a flyer must be unique and original.
How to optimize the cost of a flyer?
The budget required for creating a flyer depends on several factors:
-
The format (open and closed): For example, a flyer that is A5 size when closed with a single fold corresponds to an open A4 format (an A4 sheet folded in half).
-
Printing costs, which vary based on:
- Paper weight: A thicker paper (e.g., 350g) is more expensive. The quality of the paper also affects the final cost.
- Printing format: Generally, the larger the format, the higher the cost.
- Number of colors: Monochrome (black) printing is much less expensive than four-color process (CMYK) or printing with special spot colors.
- Finishing: Finishing options (lamination, varnish, etc.) increase the bill but add a touch of luxury.
- Quantity: In offset printing, the unit price decreases as the quantity increases because fixed costs are amortized. For small quantities, digital printing is often more advantageous, with a stable unit cost.
