What defines a good flyer? A flyer is a marketing tool used to present a company or a specific activity.
A successful flyer must grab the reader’s attention. This is why a striking design and descriptive text—both clear and concise—are essential for easy reading.
Primarily, if a flyer is designed for commercial purposes and highlights a specific product, the text must remain strictly relevant to that product.
Designing a flyer, like any other printed communication medium, requires careful work and creative research. Beyond a layout that meets specific criteria—such as using colors related to the company logo—the message must have maximum impact on the reader. Your flyer must be unique and original to stand out from the competition.
How to get an affordable flyer?
The cost or budget for a flyer depends on several factors:
- Open and Closed Formats: For example, if a client wants an A5 closed flyer with a single fold, this results in an A5 closed / A4 open format (similar to folding an A4 sheet in half).
- Printing costs depend on:
- Paper weight: Thicker paper (350g) is more expensive. Paper quality also varies and affects the final cost.
- Format: Generally, larger formats are more costly, though non-standard formats with significant paper waste can also increase prices.
- Number of colors: Printing in monochrome (Black) is much cheaper than 4-color process (CMYK) or using special spot colors.
- Finishing: Finishing touches (lamination, embossing, etc.) add to the bill… but luxury comes at a price!
- Quantity: In offset printing, the unit price decreases as the quantity increases (due to fixed cost dilution). Digital offset, however, does not vary as much with quantity and is ideal for small runs.
- Process: As mentioned above, the choice between traditional offset or digital offset significantly changes budget requirements.
